Noteboxd is a REST API that gives developers structured, queryable access to a deep catalog of fragrance data — including fragrances, brands, perfumers, notes, accords, and charts. Whether you’re building a scent discovery app, enriching a product catalog, powering recommendation features, or analyzing fragrance trends, Noteboxd provides the data layer you need. It’s designed to be simple to integrate, transparent to price, and reliable at any scale.

Key capabilities

Fragrances

Access detailed records for thousands of fragrances — including names, brands, notes, accords, perfumers, release year, concentration, and more.

Search

Full-text search across fragrances, brands, notes, perfumers, and collections in a single endpoint. Great for autocomplete, discovery, and exploration features.

Brands & Perfumers

Query brand profiles and perfumer records independently. Retrieve the full catalog for any brand or explore a perfumer’s body of work.

Notes & Accords

Look up individual notes and accords, browse fragrances that share a note family, or build features around olfactive categories.

Charts

Retrieve curated and community-generated fragrance charts — top-rated, trending, seasonal, and more. Useful for editorial and recommendation surfaces.

Batch & Enrichment

Enrich your existing product data by resolving fragrance identifiers in bulk. Match names to canonical records and pull in structured metadata at scale.

What you’ll need

Before making your first API call, make sure you have the following:
  • A Noteboxd developer account — sign up or sign in at developers.noteboxd.com.
  • A project API key — keys are scoped to projects and are prefixed nb_live_. You can create a project and copy your key from the Keys section of the developer dashboard.
  • A prepaid balance — Noteboxd is billed pay-per-call. You’ll need to add a balance from the Billing section before your requests will succeed. Calls cost between 1¢ and 25¢ each depending on the endpoint.

Next steps

Once you have those in hand, head to the Quickstart to make your first API call in minutes, or jump straight to Authentication to learn how to pass your key correctly and handle auth errors.
